Thanks for choosing TD Bank, Shania and Happy New Year to you and your family! The new year is a great time to start saving, and we'll be glad to discuss our savings accounts with you.
If your son or daughter is under the age of 18, you'll be able to open an account with them and no minimum age would apply. If they are a minor, they'll have to be listed on an account with a legal parent or guardian.
If your son or daughter is 18 years of age or older, they'll be able to establish their own savings account if they choose.
For your convenience, our current Savings products are listed here: http://bit.ly/1hzzhPT. You may find it more helpful to use our Savings Selector Tool at http://bit.ly/1sxY9Rd, which can assist you in the account selection process by recommending one for you.
If you choose to open an account for your son or daughter, feel free to stop in at any TD Bank Store location for assistance. Please keep in mind that a valid form of identification such as a State License, State ID or Passport will be needed by the parent or guardian to be listed on the account, as well as a Social Security number. Acceptable forms of identification for minors include a School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security card. Feel free to find your closest TD Store at this link: http://bit.ly/TDStores for their lobby hours. And if you'd like to make an appointment at your favorite Store, just give us a quick call! A Specialist will schedule it for you at 888-751-9000, 24/7.
Thanks again for your interest, Shania and we hope this is the info you needed! Have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing you at one of our branches soon.
