I need to cancel my TD Visa credit card due to unauthorized transaction. However, I am expecting a couple of refunds to that same card.
Do I need to wait until I receive all the refunds, then report the unauthorized transaction and close the card, OR close the Visa card now and the refunds will automatically go the replacement card?

Thank you for reaching out to us about this, Sarah. We'd like to help direct you.
The first thing we will need to do is close the credit card to prevent any further unauthorized transactions from being charged to your account. Please give us a call at 888-561-8861. We have Representatives available 24/7 that can secure your credit card and get a new one ordered for you.
Rest assured that closing your credit card will in no way affect your expected refunds. Even when a credit card is closed, any refunds or credits are still accepted. While they may not transfer automatically to the new card, a quick phone call to our Credit Card Customer Service Team at the number above and we can gladly have it moved right over!
Please give us a call or stop in to see us at any of our Stores. To find a TD Bank near you, please click here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc. We'll close out your current credit card and help you to start the dispute process for the unauthorized charge that has already occurred.
We see that you're writing to us from Winnipeg. If this is actually in regard to a Credit Card account you have with TD Canada Trust, rather than with us here at TD Bank in the U.S., we'd like to get you in touch with a representative there that can help.
Please contact TD Canada Trust's Credit Card Customer Service Team at 800-983-8472. Our friends in Canada will be able to provide you with all the info you'll need to secure your account, dispute the unauthorized charge, and still receive your refunds.
We hope to hear from you soon, Sarah. Have a nice weekend!
