I opened an account with you guys in August. I opened my account in New York. I'm from North Carolina and my license is expiring in four days (which is the ID I opened my account with) the banker said that it could be a problem when my ID expires. I was wondering if my account if going to end up closing when my ID expires on Thursday or will it be okay?

Hi Meghan! We'd be happy to clarify.
Rest assured that your account with TD Bank will not close due to your photo ID expiring. The issue may be that once your photo ID is expired, it will no longer be considered a valid form of identification to access your account at our Stores.
If your ID is not updated or a new ID not obtained in North Carolina, you may not be able to make teller withdrawals or update your info in our Stores. This is because we require valid photo ID to complete these and other in-person transactions.
If there is an lapse in having a photo ID, you may be able to do some account maintenance over the phone or through online banking while you await a new ID.
We hope this helps to explain, Meghan. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or stop in to see us at any of our Stores. To find one near you, please click here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc.
We wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
