Thank you for bringing your question to TD Help today, Francis. There is a way available for you to avoid this fee and we'd like to guide you in the right direction.
You may simply avoid Paper Statement Fees by enrolling for Paperless Statements and it only takes a few short minutes to switch over. Paperless statements are greener, safer and environmentally-friendly.
In order to enroll for paperless statements, you must first be enrolled in Online Banking. If you have an ATM/Debit Card and U.S. Social Security number you may fill out the online application to access your personal account(s). Please visit http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY to enroll for TD Bank Online Banking. Once there, you will need to choose Personal from the drop down box. You'll have to accept the Online Banking Agreement. Then, we'll ask you to enter in your personal information (Name, Social Security number, account number, etc.) and finally, you will have to set up three security questions. After those 3 steps are completed, you will have immediate access to your account(s) online.
Once you’ve successfully logged in, please follow the steps below:
-Please click on the “Customer Service” tab
-Select the “Online Statement Settings” link which is located under the self-service portion (it will be the sixth link down) or in the "Help & Related Tasks" box (which is located on the left side of the page).
-Please select the account(s) you would like to enroll for Online Statements. Make sure the email address on file is correct.
-You will then be asked to read the “Online (Paperless) Statement Customer Agreement” and the “Hardware and Software Requirements”. Once you have opened and reviewed the 2 documents needed, please check mark the two boxes and select “Save Changes”
Just in case if you are having difficulties setting this up or you don't have U.S. Social Security number at this time, you can call us at 888-751-9000. After account verification, our Specialists, who are available 24/7, would be happy to walk you through this. You could also stop by your local TD Store for assistance. For hours and locations near you, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We also wanted to share with you that we also offer different types of Checking Accounts that can waive this fee as an added benefit. Please take a look at our Fee schedule here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt for more information and also here for more details on each account: http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd. If you feel a different account type may be best for you, please contact us at the number above or visit your local TD Store. You may also send us a secure message via your TD Online Banking with your request. You can do so by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq to log in. After you log in, on the left hand side, you should see an option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center."
We hope you find our answer helpful and please don't hesitate to return to TD Helps if you have any further questions.
