I have moved to Canada. I wanted to close my TD account. I have a balance of couple 100 dollars in it. can i close the account online? or can i authorize someone on my behalf to come and close the account please?

Unless there is another signer on your account, no one else would be able to close it on your behalf. But don't worry! It can still be closed from Canada.
While we're unable to close an account by phone or email request while there is still funds in it, if you've opened an account at TD Canada Trust, we can easily help you transfer funds to that account free of charge. To do this, please call our Cross Border Banking Team 24/7 at 877-700-2913.
Once the account is at a zero balance, you can call us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or send us a secure message through your online or mobile banking and we'd be happy to close it out for you. To send a secure message, log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, look for the 'Message Center' on the left hand side and select 'Send a secure message'. From your Mobile Banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. We can generally respond within 24 hours or less.
You also have the option of requesting that we mail you an official check for the remaining balance. To do this, please mail a written, signed, and notarized request to your home Store. Please be sure to provide your account number and your address in Canada so we may issue you a check for the remaining funds as well as your final statement.
