For the quickest answer, search previously asked questions below. Chances are, others have asked a similar question and there's already an answer waiting for you. If you can't find a match, ask a new question and our team members will answer.
I recently moved from the state where I had an account with you to one where there are no TD Banks. I would like to close my account with TD and transfer my funds to my new bank, but when I called the bank I was told I could only close my account if I visited the bank, which is not possible at this time. The other questions on this site were very old, so I wasn't sure if the answers still applied. Am I able to transfer all of my funds to my new account through your Transfer page on your site, and then call someone to close my account? Because I cannot travel 300+ miles just to close an account. Thank you for you time.

Welcome to TD Helps, Remington.
Though we're sad to hear that you're leaving us, we understand that banking needs change and we'd be glad to help with the next steps.
If your account has remaining funds, you are able to close your account via mailed request. You can mail a request with the following instructions:
▪Your account number(s)
▪Your request to close the account(s)
▪Your current address
For your security, please have the letter notarized and mailed to your Home Store. Your Home Store is the TD location you visited to open your account. If you need to double check their address, please visit here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
If you are unsure of your Home TD location, feel free to connect with us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or send us a secure message while signed in to Online/Mobile Banking.
You are also able to debit the funds from your account and then request that your account is closed once the balance reflects $0.00. You can make this debit using your debit card, External Transfers or by writing a check.
To transfer to an account outside of TD Bank, you would first need to sign in to your online account here: http://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you're logged in, please follow the steps below to schedule a transfer:

After your account balance reflects $0.00, you can connect with us using the number above or by sending a secure message.
