We understand your concern, Eva and we'd be glad to discuss.
We apologize for any inconvenience however to best assist you we recommend visiting a TD Store. You are able to take a look at TD Stores you'd like to visit by using our Store Locator found here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We'd like to tell you a little more about accounts and their statuses. First, activity would be required for an account in order to maintain an Active status. If no transactions (deposits or withdrawals) are initiated by a Customer on an account it will be considered Inactive after a specified period of time. Savings, Checking or Money Market accounts are automatically changed to an inactive status after one year of no Customer-initiated activity, and these accounts will be Dormant after three or five years of no activity depending on your region or State. Please keep in mind that once an account becomes dormant, it can be turned over to the State in which the account was opened after a 3 or 5 years of no activity, depending on your location. Please see the article listed here: http://1.usa.gov/1ED20S9, which reviews information about abandoned or unclaimed accounts in the US.
Once you stop in to a Store, if you have determined that your account is still open with us, in order to reactivate it, we ask that you visit us during lobby hours at any TD Store. By making an over-the-counter deposit with one of our Tellers, your account status will be returned to active.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach a Banking Specialist 24/7 by dialing 856-751-9000, or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by dialing 1-215-569-0518.
We hope this helps, Eva and have a good day.
