Signed up on the cross-border support line for a TD Bank account. Does the support line, at my request, have to transfer money from my TD Canada Trust USD account to my TD Bank account in order for my account to become active? Do I have to wait for my welcome letter before I can ask for this to be done? I have my full account number.
Also, are cheques ordered automatically when my TD Bank account is set up or do I have to order them once I have received my welcome letter?

Thanks for inquiring about your new cross-border account with us, and welcome!
We'd like to let you know that your account becomes active on the date it is opened. With that being said, we would recommend making a deposit to the account as soon as it's possible for you. And there is no need to wait for your welcome letter in order to request a funds transfer or order checks!
As you mentioned, to make a transfer you are more than welcome to have one of our Cross Border Specialists assist you in doing so from your TD Canada Trust account. You can reach them directly 24/7 at 877-700-2913. You can also make a deposit at any TD Bank U.S. Store, if you'll be visiting us here and you can find a listing of our Stores on this page: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Once you've made the transfer and it has become available, you can place your check order with us as well by reaching us at the same number listed above. Typically, check orders are not placed automatically for you as a charge may apply.
