Hey Jonathan, great of you to stop by TD Helps. We appreciate you looking to bank with TD Bank and would be happy to help!
To qualify for a TD Student Checking account, you must be an active full time student and provide proof of enrollment through a Student ID or a tuition payment receipt. However, we do offer other great accounts that may fit your needs. For more information, check out http://bit.ly/1f9fEn9 for Checking account details and comparisons. Our Checking Selector Tool at: http://bit.ly/1gAWlhY can also be used for a personalized account recommendation.
Since you mentioned that you are 17, and you need to be 18 or older to open an account by yourself, you would need an additional account signer such as a parent or legal guardian for the account you would like to open. The opening process can be started at any of your local TD Bank Stores. For hours and location information, take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Another option you may want to consider is our TD Go Card. The TD Go Card is a reloadable prepaid card that gives the teens the freedom of making their own purchases, online or at a store, and it is accepted wherever Visa debit and credit cards are accepted. As long as your parent or guardian has a TD Bank checking account, they can fund a TD Go Card for your spending. For more information on the TD GO card, take a look here: http://bit.ly/1d2j6OJ. You'll be happy to know that TD Go Cardholders can enjoy free access at thousands of TD Bank ATMs in the U.S. and Canada and for a full list of our FAQs, we invite you to visit here: http://bit.ly/1gRpCay for all the information you'd like know about TD Go Cards. We also encourage you to visit: http://bit.ly/1eSK0Du for the Terms and Conditions for the TD GO Card and here: http://bit.ly/1zrVD2w for the TD Go Card guide.
If you have any questions, feel free to connect with us at 888-751-9000. We are available 24/7 and would be more than happy to help answer additional questions you may have. You may also select the "Reply" link to submit another inquiry and we will help any way we can.
