We appreciate you coming to TD Helps, Carol.
We are happy to inform you that you do not need to have a US address to open an account with TD Bank here in the United States. You can use your Canadian address when you open a TD Bank account.
As you are already a TD Canada Trust Customer, you can visit http://bit.ly/1ishIab to begin an account with TD Bank in the United States. Please click on the Open a U.S. Account button on the right side. On the page which follows, additional information about the products we offer is available. Use the Open Account buttons to select your account and begin the application process.
You may also speak with a Representative from our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line 24/7 by calling 1-877-700-2913, who can also assist you in opening the account by phone.
When you are ready to open your new account, you will need to provide your name, street address, date of birth, Social Insurance number and valid identification to complete the account opening process. Please keep in mind that your Canadian consumer credit profile will also be used to verify your identity.
Once your new account is set up here in the U.S., you may want to take advantage of our Cross Border Banking service. You can transfer funds between your TD Bank US and TD Canada Trust accounts, free of charge. If you wish to, please feel free to speak with a Representative from our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line 24/7 at the number listed above. With this feature, you are able to do your banking without having to visit a TD Store! For more information, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1ienPN4.
Before we begin, we invite you to view the many accounts TD Bank has to offer. Feel free to take a look here for more information: http://bit.ly/1ienPN4. On that page, you will be able to view and compare the different types of accounts, learn more about our Cross-Border Banking features and also learn more about the FAQs. If you need help deciding on which account works for you, we offer a customized recommendation with our Checking Account Selector Tool: http://bit.ly/KmmHe7 and our Savings Selector Tool: http://bit.ly/1hXi2wF.
Please note: Once you have opened your Cross Border Account, you may request a TD Bank Visa Debit Card to be sent to your address either by phone or sending a secure message through your Online Banking profile. In order to send us a Secure Message, it would be necessary to have an Online Banking account with us and to be logged in. You can log in by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. On the left hand side, you should see an option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center." Just click there and follow the prompts!
Thanks again for coming by and have a nice day.
