Welcome to TD Helps, Mark.
We'd like to let you know that the exchange rate you would receive at an ATM is not set by the bank. Foreign exchange rates are published by the government and fluctuate daily and Customers will pay the VISA exchange rate at the time of an ATM withdrawal. We encourage you to check out our current fee schedule, http://bit.ly/1cTejgt , as it outlines any applicable fees that may come into play when you use your debit card out of the country.
Since it sounds like you're traveling in the near future, we do recommend placing travel notes on your accounts if you haven't done so already. You may contact our 24/7 Customer Service line at 888-751-9000 to have a Customer Service Representative to place travel notification on your accounts. Once your account is notated, TD Bank is now aware of your current and future locations and can greatly reduce any service interruptions. You may also send a Secure Message through Online Banking as well. If you are not enrolled in Online Banking, please click here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. Once you are enrolled, please sign into your account and click on the Customer Service tab and then select "Send A Message." If you choose this option, please include the exact travel dates, destinations and if there will be any connecting flights, if applicable. If you are unable to call or send a message, you can always visit your local TD Bank and have a Customer Service Representative place the travel notes for you. Please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a TD Bank near you.
We also recommend carrying more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues. For more travel tips while overseas, please visit http://bit.ly/1gDrDYu.
