Will be in Quebec from July-December 2016, thinking about opening a TD bank account for my study abroad. Currently use Capital One, and I REALLY dislike it.

Hi Ryan and we're happy you we're able to join us today on TD Helps.
Thanks for considering us for your banking needs. We want you to know that we offer many different types of Checking accounts. Prior to opening an account we encourage you to view and compare our Checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/Wczmq0 or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help selecting a checking account that is the best fit for you.
There are several ways to open an account with us: online, over the phone or in person. The documents that you will need to open the account are the following: Your Social Security number and ID (Driver's license, State ID, or Passport).
To open a Checking account, you may apply Online by visiting www.tdbank.com or click here: http://bit.ly/1fN7u4i to take you directly to the account opening application. To make a first deposit online, you may use a debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or you can stop by your local TD Bank Store to make a deposit. To open the account over the phone, you may call us directly 24/7 at 888-751-9000 and you will have up to 30 business days to make your initial deposit. Finally, you have the option of visiting us at your local TD Bank Store to open an account. If you choose this option, you will need to make an initial deposit to the account you selected. There would not be a minimum requirement to open the account; however, some accounts have requirements in order to have certain fees waived. We would encourage you to review the link above prior to visiting a Store. For hours and locations near you, take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Since you're thinking about on opening an account, we want you to know that while in Canada, our Customers may use any TD Canada Trust ATMs at no surcharges or fees. That's right – TD Bank Customers have access to thousands of free TD Canada Trust ATMs all over Canada!
Please let us know if you have any questions as we'd be glad to answer. Hope you have a great day and an exciting trip!
