Good day..I am a USA citizen currently living in Canada...I have a SSI, file tax returns to the IRS and a state yearly and make quarterly payments. I earn income in the usa. I am currently under a TD Ameritrade Institutional account with an advisor. Two accounts are in my name and were created before i returned to Canada. Can I switch this to a retail account to handle my own trades and how would one go about this? Thank you.

Thanks for joining us on TD Helps this morning, John, and happy Thursday!
You have a great question.
As you mentioned that you're looking to have your TD Ameritrade investing account changed to a deposit account, we'd like to take a moment to explain that while TD Bank and TD Ameritrade may share the same TD shield, we are different entities. As your accounts are currently held with TD Ameritrade, we apologize for any inconvenience, as we'd like to recommend that you connect with them directly for further assistance.
For your convenience, TD Ameritrade Specialists are here to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can be reached by simply dialing 800-400-3603.
We apologize again for any inconvenience, but it was good to hear from you today, John, and we hope you enjoy the rest of your Thursday.
