Good morning, William, and welcome to TD Helps.
You have a great question, and we'll be more than happy to clear up any confusion you may be experiencing!
Before we begin, we'd first like to take a moment to explain in a bit more detail how the features and benefits of a joint account differ from an account that is owned by just an individual. With a joint account, all signers have a right to the account information, such as balances, transactions, and statements. While some information is shared, all signers are also provided with some features and benefits that are designated just for their own personal use, such as debit cards and online banking.
As you mentioned that you and your wife share a joint account together, and have both received your own debit cards, please know that your cards are not connected, and will need to be activated separately. Additionally, if you haven't already done so, you're also welcome to enroll in online banking so that you may view your joint account using your own user name and password. Feel free to use this link here: https://go.td.com/1lU2qfY to get started!
If you still need to active your debit card, feel free to call 1-888-553-4122, and simply follow the prompts! You may also visit your nearest TD Store location, during lobby hours, to speak with a Customer Service Representative about activating your card. To take a look at Store locations and their hours, please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
If you have any additional questions or concerns about your joint account or you debit card, we're here to help! Feel free to call and speak with one of our knowledgeable Banking Specialist, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at 1-888-751-9000.
Thanks again for stopping by, William!
We hope you have a fantastic weekend.
