Thanks for joining us here at TD Helps, Swati.
As you are looking to apply for Canadian Immigration and you live in Houston (outside of our Maine to Florida footprint), to open an account with TD Bank you'd need to visit us in person at one of our Store locations at your earliest convenience. Click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a TD Bank near you. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause as TD Bank is currently located only along the East Coast.
We invite you to take a look at what accounts we currently offer by clicking here for a list of our Checking accounts: http://bit.ly/Wczmq0 and here for a list of our Savings accounts: http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9. For a personalized recommendation for a Checking account click here: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best Savings account for your needs.
Once you've decided on the account that you'd like to open, if you are able to you may stop by any TD Stores please note that you'll need to bring two forms of identification; one of them being your Non-U.S. Passport. Take a look at the list below for other acceptable IDs:
-Foreign Driver's License with Photo
-US Employment Authorization card with Photo, Signature and Expiration Date
-College ID with Photo
-Firearms Permit with Photo
-Alien Registration Card with Photo
-Permanent Resident Card with Photo
-Enhanced Tribal Card or Native American Tribal Photo ID Card
We also recommend connecting with the TD Store you'll be visiting for additional help on what you'll need to bring with you during your visit.
Additionally, as you did mention that you were looking to migrate to Canada, we want to let you know that you’ve connected with TD Bank here in the States. If you meant to connect with TD Canada Trust or wish to open an account with our friends from up North, we invite you to check out: http://bit.ly/1GYnjjJ for more details and also here: http://bit.ly/1c0IA0u for information on how to open an account with our friends.
We hope that this helps you, Swati and please don't hesitate to come by again if you have any additional questions. Take care and have a great upcoming week!
