How exciting, Marielle! We'll be sure to give you all of the information you will need to make your visit to Spain go smoothly.
We're happy to say that TD Bank debit cards can be used anywhere Visa is accepted worldwide. When traveling, you can make an ATM withdrawal from any machine that displays the VISA or NYCE logo. We encourage you to check out our current fee schedule, http://bit.ly/1cTejgt, as it outlines any applicable fees that may be assessed when you use your debit card while out of the country. If you are unable to find an ATM that is compatible with the TD Bank debit card, it may be used to obtain a VISA Cash Advance.
Prior to leaving the United States, we recommend that you place a Travel Notification on your account. To do so, please contact our Banking Specialists 24/7 at 888-751-9000 and after account verification we'll be happy to add the travel notes for you. If you'd prefer, you may also visit a TD Store to complete this request. For a listing of our Stores and hours please view our locator here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If you are enrolled in Online Banking, another option to notify us of your travels is to send a secure message using www.tdbank.com. To send a secure message once you're logged in to your online profiles, on the left hand side of the page, there will be an option to Send a secure message located in the Message Center. In your message, please include the dates and destination(s) you will be traveling.
If you are not enrolled for Online Banking, you can do so for free here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. You will need your Social Security number, TD Bank ATM/Visa debit card, account number and e-mail address. Once you have successfully enrolled, you will have immediate access to your account(s).
By placing a Travel Notification, this will help us be aware if we see foreign transactions on your account. Also, please be informed that for the account's protection we will continue to monitor your card activity even when a notification is set.
We also recommend carrying more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues. For more travel tips while overseas, please visit http://bit.ly/1gDrDYu. If you need to reach us for any reason while you're in Spain you may do so by dialing (856)-751-9000. Additionally, you may call collect from a landline at (215)-569-0518.
Safe travels to you, Marielle and take care!
