I am having problem to open an online checking account. Its says that it can't find me in public records. But I want to open an account online as it has a offer of free phone. I called to customer center and they told me to open a savings account in a branch. So I opened a saving account in TD Bank yesterday hoping that the system can find me in public records. But it still not working. What can I do now?

Welcome to the TD Helps community, Saurav. We're so happy that you're interested in our recent promotion. We're thrilled to point you in the right direction to get your account opened!
We are happy to inform you that you are able to open an account Online. Opening the account online is a great way to open your account. First you'd want to decide the best account to meet your needs. We invite you to take a look at what accounts we currently offer by clicking here: http://bit.ly/Wczmq0 for a list of checking accounts and here: http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9 for a list of our savings accounts. For a personalized recommendation for a checking account click here: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best savings account for your needs.
Once you've decided on which account is best for you, you can open the account via the internet by clicking on the "Open Account" box which will be listed at the bottom of each account details. To get started, you'll need the following: Your Social Security number, One of the following: Driver's license, State ID, or Passport. To make a first deposit online, you may use a debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or you can stop by your local TD Store to make a deposit.
There are 5 steps with series of questions you will need to fill in during this account opening process. The first step is the "Account Info", you will need to input the account type you are looking to open and whether you want a TD Debit Card or not. The second step is your "Personal Info". This is where you authenticate your identity so you will need your Social Security number and your Driver's license, State ID, or Passport for this portion. Step three is the "Disclosures" where you will be requested to view and agree to. Step four is your "First Deposit". If you have a current account, whether it is with TD Bank or another institution, this is where you can transfer funds into the new account for the first deposit. Finally step five is the "Finish" portion. Review your information and submit your application.
If you run into any problems during the process or if you prefer, you could also give us a call at 888-751-9000 to speak with a Banking Specialist. Our Specialists are available 24/7 and are ready to help answer any questions and open that account for you! The option of visiting a TD Bank Store is also an option to open an account with us.
