Welcome to TD Helps, Peter.
Your account may be considered abandoned/unclaimed if you haven't made a deposit, withdrawal, or transfer from your account or if there has been no Customer Contact within the past 3-5 years (depending on the state). If this is the case, your account may have been escheated to the State.
If you've received a letter stating that your account may be escheated, you will have to sign the bottom portion of the letter and return it in the envelope provided to keep your account open. You may also call our Abandoned Property Department at (800) 281-0025, ext. 3736, 3729, 3321, or 3331 for further details.
We hope this information helps, Peter and please let us know if you have any other questions.
