Thanks for the visit, Jonathan. We'd be happy to help provide details regarding your inquiry.
If you'll be visiting a foreign country, we'd like to let you know that TD Bank does not charge any foreign transactions fees for purchases made with your TD Bank Visa Debit card. This means that when using your card with a merchant, TD Bank will not charge you a fee or percentage to convert the other currency to U.S. Dollars.
If you choose to use your card for an ATM withdrawal, please note that each withdrawal, transfer, and balance inquiry made at an ATM not owned by TD is subject to a $3.00 fee, which is charged by TD Bank the same day the transaction is made (subject to change). Please check out: http://bit.ly/1cTejgtfor more information on our current Fee Schedule.
Other fees that may be assessed for an ATM withdrawal, including currency conversion, would be charged by the financial institution that owns or operates the ATM. You may refer to the ATM at the time of withdrawal or that bank directly for their fee information. Also, please refer to: http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ (pg. 44-45) for more information.
We do have some deposit account products which will either waive non-TD ATM fees, or may also receive unlimited ATM surcharge refunds. If you have a TD Premier Checking account as mentioned, you'll be glad to know that this account will receive a refund of non-TD ATM fees; we'd recommend reviewing the requirements for this rebate at http://bit.ly/1m9qQOk. Please note that we suggest keeping your ATM receipts from your out-of-country withdrawals. If for any reason your rebate doesn't occur but you've met the requirements, you'll be able to bring your receipts to any TD Bank Store within 90 days to get a refund.
We hope this helps. Have a great day!
