Great question Nicole and we're so glad to hear of your interest in saving! It's our pleasure to explain more about how our CDs work.
First, we'd like to let you know that interest for our CDs is accrued daily, then compounded and credited monthly. The Annual Percentage Yield we list for our accounts is the interest you'll earn for the year on your deposited amount, if you maintain the funds in the account for the entire year. We invite you to take a look at our Deposit Account Agreement right here: http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ on pages 36-38 for more information about interest credit for CDs. You're also welcome to use the interest rates provided at the link in the next paragraph to calculate what can be earned for different deposit terms. Or, you may like a little bit of help here: http://bitly.com/1nEf59g. This calculator can assist you in determining how much you can save over time.
At TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank, we offer various CDs for your convenience, which have a wide variety of terms from 91 days to 7 years. We invite you to visit http://bit.ly/1hGRpMR for more information and to compare your options.
If you decide that you'd like to open a CD with us, once you have decided on the type you'd like, you can open the account online by selecting the "Open Account" box located next to each account. You may also feel free to call us directly 24/7 at 888-751-9000 with any questions you may have and to set up your new account via telephone. Or, you also have the option to make an appointment at any TD Bank location during your call, if you'd prefer to speak with a Representative in person!
Otherwise, you are also welcome to stop by your nearest TD Bank Store to speak with a Banking Specialist if you have additional questions or would like to open the account. For hours and locations near you, take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Hope this helps with your question, Nicole! We look forward to speaking with you about this again soon.
