Welcome to TD Helps, Seydou. We are happy to point you in the right direction today.
You may be glad to learn, however, that we do offer Cross Border Banking options to our customers who bank in both the U.S. and Canada. Please visit http://bit.ly/1ishIab for information differentiating our TD Cross-Border Banking accounts, credit cards, and services available. You may consider opening an account with us here in the U.S., opening an account with our partners up at TD Canada Trust, or even both!
If you decide to open an account with us here in the U.S., then once you're ready to apply, you have several options to do so depending on your Citizenship. If you have a valid U.S. Driver's License and Social Security number (or valid U.S. Tax ID number), then you can reach out to a Banking Specialist by phone at 888-751-9000 if unable to make it into a TD Store location. Our Specialists are available 24/7 to assist you with setting up your account(s). Please have your identification available when you call.
As you've mentioned that you will be a Canadian Resident, if you don't currently have a U.S. Tax ID number, then you can reach out to a Cross-Border Banking Specialist at 877-700-2913 Option 2 anytime, day or night. Our Cross-Border Banking Specialists are available 24/7 to meet your banking needs and help you set up a Cross-Border account. We can also link your new U.S. account to an existing TD Canada Trust account if you have one already. Or, if you'd prefer, you can follow this link to open a Cross-Border account online: http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM. In just about 12 minutes you can setup an account and it's ready to use the next business day!
Regardless of where your Citizenship is, you could always make it into a TD Bank Store to open the U.S. based account you're interested in. We have Stores all along the East Coast spanning from Maine to Florida and you can locate the nearest one here: http://bit.ly/TDStores. Just bring 2 forms of valid ID with you when you come in and if you have any questions, about which IDs are acceptable, please call ahead to confirm
If you're interested in opening an account with TD Canada Trust, Shami up North provided some information about opening an account that you may find helpful. Please check it out here: http://bit.ly/14ZLjmI just in case.
We hope this information helps, Seydou and take care!
