Happy Tuesday, Rohit, and welcome to TD Helps!
This is a great question.
Here at TD Bank, we're happy to offer both credit and debit cards that do not charge our Customer's with foreign transaction fees when traveling internationally!
While you will have the peace of mind in knowing that you may use your cards to make purchases internationally without the inconvenience of any transaction fees being assessed, it's important to note that, depending on your account type, non-TD ATM fees may be assessed should you need to perform a balance inquiry or a withdrawal from a non-TD ATM. If you'd like to learn more, you're welcome to check out our Fee Schedule here: https://go.td.com/2lbbfGg.
Additionally, please know that when performing an international transaction, the transaction will need to be converted from the international currency, to U.S. Dollars. When this occurs, the transaction may be processed to your account for a different amount, and this amount can vary depending on the exchange rate at the time or purchase.
Before your trip, we'd also like to recommend placing a travel notification on your cards to avoid any acceptance issues while traveling. Placing a travel notification on your debit and credit card is easy, and to do so, you may simply connect with us in whichever method is the most convenient for you!
You're first welcome to call 1-888-751-9000 to speak with one of our Banking Specialist, 24/7. You may also visit a TD Store location, during lobby hours, to speak with a Customer Service Representative. To take a look at Store locations and their hours, please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
If you're unable to call or visit a Store location to request for a travel note to be placed on your debit card, you may also send us a secure message. To send a secure message, you will first want to log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, look for the 'Message Center' on the left hand side and select 'Send a secure message'.
If you have downloaded our mobile banking app for your smartphone, you may also use this method to send a secure message. From your Mobile Banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. We generally respond within 24 hours or less.
When looking to have a travel note placed on your credit card, you may dial 888-561-8861 to be connected with one of our Credit Card Specialist. Our Credit Card Specialists are also here to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to connect with us at any of the methods mentioned above! We're always happy to help, Rohit.
Thanks again for bringing your question to TD Helps, and we hope you have a great rest of your day!
