Thanks for reaching out to us today, Lisa.
The currency used in the Bahamas is the Bahamian Dollar (BSD). We'd like to let you know that both TD and Non-TD Customers can exchange foreign currency at any TD Bank Store location during lobby hours. We invite you to look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find out TD Bank Store locations near you.
Please understand that exchange rates are subject to change daily, you may give a call to the location of your choice for information regarding the exchange rates. Another option you have to obtain the current exchange rate is by calling us 24/7 at 888-751-9000. Please note that there may be fees associated with foreign currency conversions and for more information visit: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
If you're a TD Bank Customer, prior to your travels, we encourage you to add travel notes on your account. You may contact us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 to have a Banking Specialist place travel notification on your accounts. You may also send a Secured Message through Online Banking. If you are not enrolled in Online Banking, please click here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. Please have your account number, debit card number and Social Security number available. If you have any trouble signing up, please contact us at the telephone number listed above.
Once you are enrolled, please sign into your account and click on the Customer Service tab and then select "Send a secured message." If you choose this option, please include the exact travel dates, destinations and if there will be any connecting flights, if applicable. If you are unable to call or send an email, you can always visit your local TD Bank and have a Customer Service Representative place the travel notes for you.
We also recommend carrying more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues. For more travel tips while overseas, please visit http://bit.ly/1gDrDYu. Please be aware that there are no transaction fees for any purchases made through your TD Bank VISA Debit Card; however, when making cash withdrawals at Non-TD ATMs, certain fees may apply. Please see the above Fee Schedule to determine if fees would apply to your type of account.
We hope this is helpful and let us know if you have any other questions.
