Hi Mary and we appreciate you choosing to ask your questions here on TD Helps.
We'd like to let you know that you can use your ATM card anywhere in the world on ATMs which are a VISA or Plus ATM location. While traveling in Canada, you'd be happy to know that if you withdraw funds at any TD Canada Trust ATM, you will not be assessed with any fees. To help you find TD Canada Trust ATMs near your travel destinations (airport), please click here: http://bit.ly/1cZWU5e. If you're card has a Visa logo and is attached to a Checking account, you should be able to use your card where ever Visa is accepted. However, we suggest carrying more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues. Please note; fees may apply when using a Non-TD Bank ATM. We encourage you to check out our current Fee Schedule, http://bit.ly/1cTejgt, as it outlines any applicable fees.
We'd also like to share with you a few tips to manage your money when traveling, please check out: http://bit.ly/1fO8wKy, you may also want to review our international travel tips frequently asked questions by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1ltwDDc.
Additionally, to avoid any interruptions to your TD Bank ATM/Visa debit card usage, we recommend placing a Travel Notification on your account(s). If you have not already done so, you can do so by calling us 24/7 at 888-751-9000.
If you're setup for Online Banking, another option would be sending a Secure Message using www.tdbank.com and requesting a Travel Notification to be added to your account(s). To send a Secured Message, you must first log on to your TD Bank online profile. You can do so by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. After you log in, on the left hand side, you should see an option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center”. Please be sure to provide your travel dates and destinations in your message. If you are not already set up for Online Banking, please visit here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. Keep in mind that you will need your account number, Social Security number and TD Bank ATM/Visa debit card handy to complete the enrollment process. If you do not have the required information to set up for Online Banking or you need assistance enrolling, you call contact us 24/7 at the number listed above. Upon proper account verification, we would be happy to help get you started.
You may also visit a TD Bank Store to add a Travel Notification. To find a TD Bank near you, you can look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
By placing a travel notification, this will help us be aware if we see foreign transactions on your account. Also, please be informed that for your protection we will continue to monitor your card activity even when a notification is set.
Feel free to visit again if you have any additional questions. Hope you have a nice week.
