the program is only downloading October 2017 until present. Is there a glitch in system? Or can you only download the most recent activity?

We'd be happy to explain.
Through TD Bank Online Banking, you may download up to your previous statement and your current activity online. For transactions prior to that, you will need to download statements and may need to enter the information manually to your spreadsheet, if necessary. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Going forward, we recommend regularly downloading your transactions to ensure that your records are up-to-date and to avoid making manual entries.
