In reply to Randi, Freehold
Thanks for reaching out to us on TD Helps, Randi. We're sorry to hear you're having difficulties with transferring externally.
External Transfers are used if you're sending money from your personal account with TD Bank to your account at another Financial Institution. To use this service you would have to be enrolled in Online Banking. If you're not already enrolled, please click here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. You will need your account number, debit card number and email address to get started. Once you're enrolled, you can initiate the transfer by using the "Transfers" tab. After selecting the "Transfers" tab you will then have to click "Transfer to Accounts Outside TD Bank." You would have to add your account at a different institution. To do so, select "Add a New Account." You will then be prompted to select the type of account followed by the account and routing numbers. Once you enter the required fields, the transfer service will then display whether or not you can make an immediate transfer. In some cases, a trial deposit is initiated at the receiving institution for verification purposes.
When sending an External Transfer, you will have two delivery options, three day or next day delivery. Please note: for the three day option, the fee is $3.00 whereas; next day delivery has a fee of $7.00. The next day delivery option is not available for Savings accounts. To qualify for the next day delivery option, you must wait 90 days from your first successful 3-day transfer and must not have had any transactions that overdrew your account in the past 90 days.
Please understand, as we would like to assist you directly, unfortunately, we do not have access to your personal information since this is considered an unsecured forum. We encourage you to contact our 24/7 Customer Service line at (800)-493-7562 and one of our dedicated Banking Specialists will be happy to check the status of your requested External Transfer.
If you are trying to send a transfer to another individual, we can provide other options as well. Another option we have available to you is Person-to-Person Payments. With this option you are able to send money from your personal account with TD Bank to someone else's account at another Financial Institution. This feature is also available via Online Banking. When you're logged it, you may click on the tab at the top of the page titled "Person-to-Person Payments." You will then be asked to accept a user agreement, review the fee schedule and confirm your email and phone number. A text and email code will be sent to the mobile number and email address we have on file for you. Next we will request you to submit both codes for verification to complete the enrollment process. Once the enrollment is complete you’ll be ready to send the payment!
You will also have two delivery options when sending a Person-to-Person payment, the three business day option; which has a fee of $1.00. You also have the option to send the payment with the next business day delivery; which has fee of $7.00. Again, the next day delivery option will become available to you after 90 days of your first successful 3 day transfer and your account must be without any overdrafts in the past 90 days.
Another transfer type available to you is wire transfers. You can send wires to any bank within the country and across the globe! If you are making a transfer within the US, you will need to gather the name, address and ABA routing number of the receiving bank, the name of the account to be credited, the beneficiary address and the account number. Sending an international wire is a little different than one within the US. To send an international wire all you need is:
- The full name, address, including city, state/province, country and account number of the person/business (for Euro Zone countries – IBAN – International Banking Account Number) you are sending money to
- The full name and address, including city, state/province and country of the financial institution receiving the funds
- The amount and currency of the transfer
Keep in mind also that depending on the currency you are sending, some transactions may take longer than others. You may want to contact the other Financial Institution to determine what information they require to receive the wire. Take a look here, http://bit.ly/1cTejgt for fees that may apply for wire transfers. Please note that wire transfers can only be scheduled at a TD Bank location during lobby hours. For lobby hours and locations near you please take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope you find this information useful, Randi. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
