I have a custodial account and the name on the check does not match the name on the card. Can I cash this check, without the card

Thank you for coming to TD Helps, Isabella.
If you have an account at TD Bank you may cash the check as long as you have the funds to cover it. If not, you may deposit the check. You would need to be a TD Bank Customer for us to honor this check as it's not written off of a TD Bank account.
When making check deposits with a Teller, the first $100 is made available immediately. If you are a new account holder and your account has not been open for 30 consecutive days, Check Deposits can be held for 7-10 business days for verification purposes. After this grace period, not only will the first $100 be made available at the time of deposit but the rest of the funds will credit to your account the following business day.
If your check deposit is made before 8pm it will be made available the following business day. If your deposit is made after 8pm on a business day or on any weekend or holiday, the next business day will be considered the deposit date. For example if you make a mobile deposit on a Saturday, the deposit date will be Monday, since that is typically the next business day; your funds would then generally be available on Tuesday.
Also we want to inform you that a third party check is written to one party only and endorsed by that payee, who then endorses the check over to another person. For example, Joe Smith has a check made payable to him. He endorses the check on the back and writes, "pay to the order of Sue Jones." Sue Jones then endorses the check and wants to deposit it into her account. We can accept the check for deposit only into Sue Jones' account. An Endorsement Authorization & Release Form must be completed at the time of the deposit. Please note, third party checks must be deposited with a TD Bank teller and cannot be made via the ATM or Mobile Deposit.
Please also keep in mind that government or insurance checks can only be presented for payment to the person listed on the "Payable to" line of the check, and for a check with two payees, these types of checks can only be deposited into a joint account naming both parties.
You may also take a look at our Personal Deposit Account Agreement here: http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ. On pages 38-41 you can find our Funds Availability Policy along with information about when you'll have access to deposits.
Please note: To cash a check we will require a valid photo ID (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.).
Have a great day!
