Hi there Dave,
We appreciate you writing in today regarding a wire transfer.
Thank you for providing some details for us to better assist you. First, we would have to let you know that international wires cannot be sent online or via phone, and we apologize for the inconvenience this causes you, seeing that you're in the U.K. right now. Typically, in order to send an international wire you must visit us at any TD Bank Store.
Since you're in the U.K., we'd like to provide a few possibilities for obtaining the funds from there. First, if your account is a joint account, any owner may visit us at a Store to initiate the wire, if one of you is currently located in the U.S. For a listing of all of our Stores, please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores. Feel free to review additional information on sending international wires at http://bit.ly/1oowsYN.
As another option, you may wish to deposit a check from your TD Bank account to the local account you have. If you still need to send the funds, you can initiate the wire transfer from that account once the funds have cleared. Or, feel free to withdraw cash either via ATM or by Visa Cash Advance at a local bank using your TD Bank Visa Debit card, and then deposit these to your account there. Again, after doing so you could initiate a wire from your U.K. bank account if needed.
If you may opt to withdraw funds using either an ATM or a cash advance, please note that daily limits on our Visa debit cards are $750.00 for ATM withdrawals, and $5,000.00 for cash advances. For additional info, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ on pages 43-44.
If you are expecting to withdraw more than what is permitted by your daily limit, we can offer a couple of options to request an increase. Please note, in order to have your debit card limit increased you must have a deposit account older than 90 days that is in Normal status and have a sufficient balance to cover the requested amount.
To increase one of the limits on your Visa debit card, you can send us a written request via fax or Secure Message. You can send the fax to our Fulfillment Team at 856-533-1138, or please log in to your TD Bank Online account at http://bit.ly/1eaISlq and use the Send a Message link after clicking the Customer Service tab. With either method, please include the following information:
• Subject: Limit Increase • Account Number • Debit/ATM Card Number • Your Name • Contact Telephone Number • A Statement indicating to 'Please increase my total daily Visa (or POS or ATM) limit to $X for the day.'• Your Signature (for the fax option only)
Please note, limit increases are temporary and the transaction must be completed the same day that the limit increase is granted. If you are interested in a permanent limit increase or decrease, you must visit your local TD Store location to make the request.
If you have any further inquiries, you can always contact us from outside the United States via phone at 1-856-751-9000, or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518. For your convenience, we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The US country code is 1-011.
We hope one of these options will help, Dave.
Best of luck and please feel free to write in again with any questions!
