Welcome to TD Helps, Bobbie. We are happy to provide you with some helpful information, and thank you for considering TD for your Son!
In order to open an account for your son, we ask that you visit us at any TD Store during lobby hours for help. To take a look at TD Stores near you please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Prior to your visit, we suggest taking a look at the variety of products we offer. We offer many different types of Checking and Savings accounts. To view and compare our checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd or use our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help with selecting a checking account that is the best fit for you. To view and compare savings account products, click on http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9, or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best savings account for your needs.
When you're ready to visit a TD Store, be sure to bring your valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, State issued photo I.D., passport, etc.) as well as both of your Social Security numbers. Depending on the type of account you select, we also recommend contacting your preferred Store prior to your visit to ensure that you have all of the necessary documents and to determine if your son needs to be present for account opening.
Once your son's account is all set up, and if you are looking to transfer funds from your TD personal Checking account to your son's TD Bank Checking account, you may use the Person-to-Person feature. To use this transfer feature, you must first be enrolled in Online Banking. If you are not enrolled, follow http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. You will need your TD Bank ATM/Visa Debit Card, your account number and your e-mail address. If you do not have a debit or ATM card, please call one of our 24/7 Tech Support Specialists at 1-800-493-7562. After account verification, our dedicated Specialists would be happy to assist. Once you’ve successfully enrolled for Online Banking, you will then select the “Person-to-Person” Tab to enroll in this feature. For the Terms and Conditions, in addition to information on the payment methods and amounts please check http://bit.ly/1pADlWD.
New users and new accounts will only have 3-day delivery speed option until the 90 day eligibility requirements have been met for the 1-day delivery option. The cost for 3-day delivery is $1.00.
If Person-to-Person transfers are not an option for you or you have a TD Business checking account, you can make a deposit to another TD Bank account. There are several ways for you to make deposits into a TD Bank account. One way you could make a deposit would be by visiting a TD Bank location with cash and your son's account number. Another way to make a deposit would be to make a check payable to your son and write “for deposit only” with his account number on the back of the check. Regardless of the option you choose, the deposit can be processed with a Teller in the Lobby or Drive-thru at any TD Bank location. When making the deposit directly into the other account, there is no charge to you.
If you have any additional inquires, Bobbie please feel free to submit another question. We hope this information was helpful, and we hope you have a great week!
