Thanks for coming to TD Helps, Mary.
We appreciate you considering TD Bank for your banking needs and we would be glad to help answer your question.
Two people are indeed allowed to be on a Convenience Checking account. You are both allowed to have ATM/Debit Cards with this type of account. Check out http://bit.ly/18IVtY0 for more information on this account and how to avoid monthly maintenance fees.
When you are ready to open a joint account with your boyfriend, both parties must be present at the time of the account opening and can visit any TD Bank Store. For locations and hours near you, please visit: http://bit.ly/1dOroWV. To prepare for the account opening, you both would need to bring in your Driver’s Licenses, State issued photo I.D.'s, or passports.
You also have the option of opening an individual account online at: http://bit.ly/PnWJZJ, under the details for the TD Convenience Checking account, please click on the link that says "Open Account" of you could even call us 24/7 at 888-751-9000. Once your individual account has successfully opened, you can then visit any local TD Bank with your boyfriend to add him to the account. Check out http://bit.ly/1nEm90e for more information on how easy it is to have accounts with TD Bank.
Let us know if you have any more questions and have a great day.
