Welcome to TD Helps and thank you for sending us your question, Bill.
If the bill pay check you're inquiring about was issued via our Online Banking Bill Pay service, and this original check was returned to you by your payee directly, which means this check has not yet been presented for payment by your payee. Check issued via our Online Banking Bill Pay service are just like the checks you write yourself, money will not be withdrawn from your account until the check is presented by the payee.
If you would like to confirm this information, please feel free to call 800-493-7562, 24/7 to speak with one of our Banking Specialists.
