I am just wondering if I can start the process now as my dad only has a couple of days before he heads back home. Can we email the bank the requirements?

Thanks for your interest in opening an account with TD, Alexandra. We'd be glad to help.
We'd like to first start off by informing you that anyone under the age of 18 is considered to be a minor. With that being said, being that you are 15 years of age, to open an account we do ask that an adult accompanies you at any TD Bank Store to open a joint Checking account. To find a TD Bank location, please check out: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Here at TD Bank, we offer a wide array of accounts and we invite you to visit the below links for more information prior to your visit. We invite you to take a look at what accounts we currently offer by clicking here: http://bit.ly/Wczmq0 for a list of checking accounts. For a personalized recommendation for a checking account click here: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnUor.
Once a decision has been made on which account is best, please visit us during lobby hours to open the joint account. When visiting, we ask that the parent or guardian provide a valid form of identity such as a State License, State ID or Passport. You would also need to provide identification; acceptable forms of identification for minors include a School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security card.
We understand if you do not have the forms of ID mentioned above as you mentioned you are a non U.S. resident. Please take a look below for other acceptable forms of ID:
- Employment ID with Photo and Signature
- State Issued ID or Driver's License with Signature
- Foreign Driver's License with Photo
- US Employment Authorization card with Photo, Signature and Expiration Date
- College ID with Photo
- Alien Registration Card with Photo
- Permanent Resident Card with Photo
Here at TD Bank, we can instantly issue Visa debit cards in our stores from Maine to Florida, which will immediately be active for purchases. Being that the teen is a minor, if a joint account was opened, a Visa debit card can be issued as long as a verbal consent of an adult was given.
If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach us from overseas by dialing 856-751-9000 or 215-569-0518 collect from a land line telephone. Our Specialists are available 24/7 to help!
We hope this covers everything and have a good day.
