Good morning, Bill, and thanks for bringing your question to TD Helps today!
The availability of your deposit will depend on how you presented your check for payment, and we'll be happy to explain when you should expect your deposit to be available.
If you made your deposit with a Teller at your local TD Store location, the first $100 is made available immediately, while, in most cases, the remaining funds will become fully available on the following business day.
If you made your deposit at a TD Bank ATM, and the deposit was transacted before 8:00 PM on a business day, your deposit should be made fully available on that following business day. However, if you made your deposit at an ATM after 8 PM, or on a non-business day, we will consider that the deposit was made on the following business day. For example, if you made an ATM deposit on Saturday, that deposit will be considered Monday's deposit and will post to your account Tuesday.
It's also important to note that cash deposits initiated by either a Teller or at a TD ATM are available right away.
Please keep in mind that deposits made through mobile banking will not have the first $100 available on the same business day. In most cases, the full amount becomes available the following business day.
As you stated that the check you deposited was for a large amount, it's important to note that large check deposits may be held for 7-10 business days for verification purposes. A business day is every day except Saturdays, Sundays, and federal holidays.
Because there are exceptions that may cause delays in funds availability, we invite you to look at our Personal Deposit Account Agreement here: https://go.td.com/1kb17UQ. On pages 40-44, you can find our Funds Availability Policy along with information about when you'll have access to deposits.
If you have any questions, or would like to confirm when you should expect to see your deposit become fully available in your account, you're more than welcome to contact us directly. A Banking Specialist may be reached at 1-888-751-9000, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As always, you're also welcome to visit a TD Store location, during lobby hours, for assistance. To take a look at Store locations and their hours, please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
We hope this helps clear up any confusion, Bill. Have a great day!
