I deposited money into my checking account, well above the minimum balance, and it still took out a "maintenance fee", why did this occur?

Good Morning, Olivia. Thanks for joining us today. Please note that your checking account may have a minimum balance requirement which needs to be maintained daily, to avoid your monthly maintenance fee. If your balance falls below the required minimum daily balance on any day within the statement period, a maintenance fee would be assessed on the last day of your statement cycle. So that we may review the account with you, we ask that you call us directly at 888-751-9000, where we are available to assist 24/7. If you'd prefer, you may also visit your local TD Bank Store for help. To view our Store locations and hours, please click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores. Lastly, if you currently have access to your online banking, you may send us a secure message. To send a secure message, you will first want to log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, look for the 'Message Center' on the left hand side and select 'Send a secure message'. If you have downloaded our mobile banking app for your smartphone, you may also use this method to send a secure message. From your mobile banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. Please know that we would like to assist you directly; however, TD Helps is not considered a secured forum and we do not have access to your account/personal information. We hope to hear from you soon, Olivia, and hope this helps!
