Thanks for allowing us to assist you here at TD Helps today, Allan. We're pleased to hear you are considering TD for your banking needs.
TD Bank is proud to offer Store locations from Maine to Florida. However, it is not necessary to live within the TD Bank footprint in order to open an account with us.
If you don't currently live in a state with a TD Bank Store, we recommend giving us a call 24/7 at 1-888-751-9000 to speak with one of our dedicated Banking Specialist. They will be more than happy to help you establish your account by phone.
Please review the convenient account types we currently offer on our website to find accounts which best suit you. To view and compare our checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help selecting a checking account that is the best fit for you. To view and compare savings account products, click on http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9 , or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best savings account for your needs.
If you are able to verify an address within our footprint, you are also welcome to use our website for the account opening process. You can open the account after choosing your account above by clicking on the "Open Account" box, which will be listed at the bottom of each account's details.
To begin the account application, you'll need your Social Security number, and a valid personal identification such as a Driver's license, State ID, or Passport.
If you open your account online, you can make your first deposit using a debit card linked to an account from another financial institution or a credit card (Visa or MasterCard). If you open the account by phone, your representative will be happy to provide convenient deposit options.
We hope this answers all of your questions, Allan. Have a wonderful day!

Hi Justin, I am responding to an over 2 years old message. Does TD still allow people from other states to open Checking Products. Also what is your policy on Credit Cards and Loans for Customers outside of your east coast footprint ?

Thank you for considering TD Bank, Ronak. It's a pleasure to assist you with helpful information regarding the current products we offer.
First, the option to open an account is certainly available online. Please note that when opening an account online, the TD Bank Store closest to the legal address you provide will automatically be assigned as the Home Store for your account, and any opening documents will be mailed there. However, we'd like to let you know that the Store assigned to your account will not impact your banking in any way. And, as a TD Bank Customer, you are more than welcome to use any of our Stores for your banking, whether your account was opened at that Store or not.
We invite you to take a look at the accounts we have available. To take a look at our checking accounts, please visit https://go.td.com/2aHjRCr. We offer a Checking Selector Tool that may help you choose an account based on your needs here: https://go.td.com/1vW1xnU. To take a look at savings accounts, please visit here: https://go.td.com/1pJT9I9. We also have a Savings Selector Tool found here: https://go.td.com/1vW1DvM.
To begin the application, you'll need your Social Security number and a valid personal identification such as a Driver's license, State ID, or Passport, and when opening your account online, you can make your first deposit using a debit or credit card (Visa or MasterCard), or the routing and account numbers from another bank you may have. You'll also be able to make a deposit at any Store instead if you choose.
If you'd prefer to open your account by phone, feel free to give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 to speak with one of our dedicated Banking Specialists. They will be more than happy to help you establish your account. If you open the account by phone, your representative will be happy to provide convenient deposit options. You're also welcome to open your new account in person. Please see https://go.td.com/1nq31dc to search for a convenient TD Bank Store location near you. Please keep in mind that once you establish an account, you'll also be able to update your mailing address on the account as needed.
In regard to your loan inquiry, at this time, TD is not authorized to lend in states outside of our footprint (Maine - Florida) due to federal regulations that prevent institutions from doing so. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Lastly, to apply for a TD Bank Credit Card, you must be either a U.S. Citizen or a permanent resident of the United States, have a U.S. Social Security number, be at least 18 years old and have a current U.S. street address to apply for a TD Visa Credit Card.
If you meet all of the requirements you may check out this link http://go.td.com/1NryPsn for the different Visa credit cards we offer.
You may apply by giving us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or online. You can also visit any TD Bank Store during lobby hours. For information on TD Store locations and hours please click this link https://go.td.com/1nq31dc.
You can contact one of our Credit Card Specialists 24/7 at 888-561-8861 if you have any additional questions.
We appreciate your visit, Ronak. We wish you the best of luck with finding the best products that may suit your needs.
