Thanks for your question, Jarod. We'd be glad to help!
Please know that you do not need an active account with TD Bank in order to open a joint account. Everyone who is going to be an authorized signer on the account you plan to open would need to visit a TD Store for the account opening process. To take a look at Store locations and their hours please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
We recommend taking a look at the accounts we have to offer. You are able to take a look at checking accounts here: https://go.td.com/2eQORxu and savings accounts here: https://go.td.com/2dIcnAw.
If you're having trouble choosing an account, you are able to use our Checking Selector Tool here: https://go.td.com/KmmHe7 and our Savings Selector here: https://go.td.com/1hXi2wF for a custom recommendation.
Once you're ready to visit a TD Store, be sure that all soon to be joint account holders bring a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) and their Social Security Numbers.
We hope to see you soon, Jarod. Have a great day!
