In reply to Vanessa, Cartagena
Good afternoon Vanessa. We hope the weather is treating you well in Columbia!
First, to answer your question – We are happy to inform you that you can use your debit card at locations that accept VISA across the globe! While you are away, you can make ATM withdrawals from any machine that displays the VISA or PLUS logo.
Since you're in Columbia, you can reach us at (856)-751-9000, our Specialists are available 24/7, or you can call us collect from a landline at (215)-569-0518 with operator assistance., and we will be happy to place a travel notification on your account for you. Another easy way to set a travel notification is to send us a Secure Message from your TD Bank online account. Please log in here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq with your user name and password. You can then send us a secure message by clicking on the Customer Service tab, and using the Send a Message link. Please include your exact travel dates, destinations and any connecting flight information if applicable.
We'd also like to let you know that TD Bank does not charge any foreign transactions fees for purchases made with your TD Bank Visa Debit card. Also, as a Customer of TD Bank, you'll be pleased to know that you have access to every TD Bank and TD Canada Trust ATM from Maine to Florida and throughout Canada for free!
In case you find yourself needing to use an ATM not owned by TD, we would like to take the opportunity to advise you about fees that can be incurred while using international ATMs. Each withdrawal, transfer, and balance inquiry made at an ATM not owned by TD is subject to a $3.00 fee at this time (subject to change), which is charged by TD Bank the same day the transaction is made. Please check out our current Fee Schedule at: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt for information. This may be in addition to any fee assessed by the owner of the ATM or network, and may include fees for both withdrawals and balance inquiries.
If you use any ATM in a foreign country, you may also incur international, currency exchange and usage fees regardless of the type of account you have at TD Bank. Please refer to http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ (pg. 45) for more information about what type of fees to expect.
Please keep in mind that a travel notification helps us recognize unauthorized transactions on your account. Please be informed that for your protection we will continue to monitor your card activity even when a notification is set. We also recommend carrying more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues. For more travel tips while overseas, please visit http://bit.ly/1gDrDYu.
