Good morning, Donna, and welcome to TD Helps!
This is a great question, and we'll be more than happy to help!
Generally speaking, here at TD Bank, the type of deposit you make can determine when your funds will be available. To avoid any confusion, we'll gladly review our funds availability with you in further detail!
Direct deposits are available on the same business day that they are credited to your account, even while they still reflect in a 'Pending' status. Similarly, cash deposits made with a Teller are also made available the same business day for your use.
Check deposits; however, work a little differently. When you deposit a check, the first $100 is made available right way. If you are a new account holder and your account has not been open for 30 consecutive days, check deposits may be held for 7-10 business days for verification purposes.
If you make a deposit through the ATM, either cash or check, the first $100 dollars is credited immediately while the remainder of your deposit will be applied to the balance on the following business day. Unlike the ATM, the Mobile Deposit feature does not credit any funds initially, and the funds will be credited on the following business day.
If you'd like, you're more than welcome to take a look at our Personal Deposit Account Agreement for more information. You can find this agreement by clicking here: https://go.td.com/2nf0JAI, and can locate the Funds Availability Policy on pages 40-44.
Additionally, you're also welcome to connect with us directly, and we'll be happy to review your account or deposit with you!
Banking Specialists can be reached by simply dialing 1-888-751-9000, and for your convenience, are available to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You may also, as always, visit a TD Store location to speak with a Customer Service Representative, during lobby hours. We hope this clears up any confusion, Donna!
Thanks for stopping by TD Helps today, and have a happy new year!
