Welcome to TD Helps, Albert
First we'd like to let you know that you can still place a stop payment on an electronic check (ACH transaction) item on your account while it is pending. However, we always recommend placing a stop payment as soon as possible, and please keep in mind that we won't be able to guarantee that item will be stopped.
In addition we'd like to mention that transactions made with your TD Bank Visa Debit card cannot be stopped using a stop payment. Also, if you scheduled this payment using TD Bank Bill Pay, a stop payment can cause an interruption to your Bill Pay service. To avoid this, if your payment was scheduled there, please call our Tech Support Specialists a call 24/7 at 800-493-7562 to determine your options. With that being said, if you'd like to place the stop payment, our Specialists would be more than happy to assist you 24/7 at 888-751-9000. We can certainly help in placing the stop payment upon account verification.
You may also place a stop payment via Online Banking. To request a stop online, you will need to first log on to your online banking account. If you have a personal TD accounts and are signed up for retail online banking, please click here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. If you are TD Bank BusinessDirect user, please direct your browser to: http://bit.ly/1rvBmq8. Click on the Customer Service tab on the top right, then use the Stop Payment link prompts to complete your request.
To get set up for Online Banking, you can follow this link: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. This link will take you directly to the "Online Banking Sign Up" page. You will need your account number, your TD Bank ATM/Visa Debit Card number, your Social Security number and your E-mail address. Once you complete the application you will have access to your online account right away.
Also, depending on your checking account type, there may be a fee applied for a stop payment. Please check out: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt to view our current Fee Schedule.
In addition, you may also stop by your nearest TD Bank Store location to request the stop payment request in person. For TD Bank Store locations and lobby hours near you please take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope this information is helpful to you, Albert. Have a nice day!
