Hi Sonii, welcome to TD Helps! We'll be happy to address your concern today.
Based on the information you provided, it sounds like you may have a TD Convenience Checking account. In order to waive your monthly maintenance fee, the minimum daily balance requirement must be maintained every day. If the balance falls below the required minimum daily balance at any given point, a maintenance fee will be assessed to the account on the last day of your statement cycle. Note, only one maintenance fee will be assessed per month, if applicable. For more information, we invite you to check out the link here: https://go.td.com/2kjUcUj to view our TD Convenience Checking Account Guide.
If you weren't previously assessed a fee even though the account may have fallen below $100.00, a few possibilities exist. For example, if you previously had a Student Checking account, your account may have recently been switched to a TD Convenience Checking. Please keep in mind that student benefits will expire after 5 years or on a student’s 24th birthday, whichever comes first. Or, if you recently opened an account with us, please note that a maintenance fee is not typically assessed within the first month or two of the account opening, determined by when the account was opened.
We'd be happy to review your account in better detail with you to determine the exact reason for this change. You may give us a call directly at 888-751-9000, available 24/7. You may also review your account with a Store Representative. To view our Store locations and hours, please click here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc. Please know that we would like to assist you directly however, TD Helps is considered an unsecured forum and we do not have access to your account/personal information.
We hope this clears any confusion, Sonii, and that you have a great rest of your day.
