vehicle. I need the title to sell my car and the county tax office requires a lien satisfaction letter from your bank to release my title. How do I go about getting this piece of paper?

Welcome to TD Helps, Maria. We'd be glad to help.
If the auto loan was through TD Bank, you may obtain the lien release of your vehicle a couple of different ways.
The first way is via fax. Please fax the following information to our Consumer Release Department at 207-755-4245:
• Your full name, address, and Social Security Number
• The account number, if it is available
• The year, make, model and VIN, and the date it was paid off, if available
• Your request for Discharge Papers/Release of Lien
• Your signature
We also recommend including your best contact number and your return fax number so that we can assist you as efficiently as possible. Please keep in mind that the turnaround time for the request is typically 3-5 business days.
You could give our 24/7 Financial Solutions Group a call at 800-937-5020 or stop by your local TD Bank Store for assistance as well. Click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a TD Bank near you.
We hope this helps, Maria and have a good day!

I have a similar case, and my name is Maria too, however, in my situation. the car was never paid off due to the collection practice used. the attorney had a conversation with the company and it was done. i got the keep the vehicle as opposed to moving further and filing suit. the car is old and needs to be removed from the streets. is there a way of obtaining tittle to have a junk yard take it?

Great question, Maria, and thanks for looking to TD Helps for your answer. We are happy to assist you!
Upon the closure of your loan, the DMV will create a clear title and mail to your address on file. If your loan was satisfied and a title was previously issued, we recommend reaching out to your DMV. The state may charge a titling fee.
If you are unsure of the status of your loan or never received the title, please follow the instructions previously stated for a release of lien. If the loan was not closed, we will be unable to release the lien.
We hope this information helps, Maria. Enjoy the rest of your day!
