Thanks for joining us again, Robert. We'll be happy to point you in the right direction.
We are happy to help your family save for the future. If your grandkids are 18 years of age or younger, we will require a joint account holder or a custodian on the account as well, Robert. We do offer some products which are designed specifically for minors. You may click the following link to view and compare Savings account products http://bit.ly/1g5vhXQ, or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best Savings account for your needs. To set up a joint account with a minor, both parties are required to visit a TD Bank Store and be present for the account opening process. To find a TD Store location near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores. Please keep in mind that your child will need to provide a valid form of identification such as a State License, State ID or Passport. Acceptable forms of identification for minors include; School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security Card.
If your grandkids are over the age of 18, they would be able to open the account without a joint account holder. Once your daughter has decided on the type of the account to open, please have her use this link: http://bit.ly/1fN7u4i to open an account online. They are also welcome to call us directly 24/7 at (888) 751-9000 with any questions or to set up the new account via telephone.
For any information regarding investments or related accounts, we recommend connecting with our brokerage affiliate, TD Ameritrade. They would be able to assist with detailed information about the specific accounts they offer. For more information regarding TD Ameritrade, please visit http://bit.ly/1BMZkQl. To reach a Representative 24/7 please call 800-400-3603.
We hope that this helps out, Robert. Let us know if you have any other questions.
