Hi Jody. Thanks for reaching out to us today.
We're sorry to hear that your paycheck was returned unpaid. We'd be happy to help direct you.
As you've reached us here at TD Bank in the U.S., we're unsure how returned checks are handled in Canada. Here at TD Bank, we generally mail a legal copy of the check back to the depositor so they may seek a new check or re-deposit the legal copy.
We recommend reaching out directly to Scotia Bank to confirm if any documentation of the unpaid check will be sent to you or how you may obtain something that you could present to your employer as proof that the check was unpaid.
We wish you the very best of luck and hope that you're compensated soon. Take care, Jody.
