I live in Ethiopia and and my husband lives in Canada and he has a TD bank account. I am a second card holder on his account. I have gotten a check under my name and wanted to deposit it into his account. Would I be able to deposit it my self via an app or do I have to endorse the check and send it to him so he can deposit it into the TD account?

Thanks for stopping by TD Helps, Aysha. We'd be happy to help answer your question.
Generally speaking, we do accept third party check deposit; however, it cannot be accepted via Mobile App or ATM. An Endorsement Authorization & Release Form must be completed at the time of the deposit. You and your husband can visit any TD Store during lobby hours to receive the form and complete the transaction. For Store hours and locations near you please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
The back of the check(s) must be endorsed by the person who the check is made out to and the person that is depositing the check before it is presented. Please note; government or insurance checks can only be presented for payment from the person listed on the "Payable to" line of the check.
We also invite you to take a look here: http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ for more information on our Funds Availability (pages 38-41).
If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to us 24/7, at 888-751-9000. If you are calling from Ethiopia, please dial direct 1-856-751-9000 or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518 if you are able to gain access to a land line phone.
Please note, if you and your husband are Customers of TD Canada Trust, we have found a similar discussion happening with our partners up North. Check out: http://bit.ly/12KS7Va. Also, our friends in Canada can assist you further if you have any other questions. Check out their page here: http://bit.ly/1kD3iFr. You can reach out to them 24/7 at 866-222-3456.
We hope this helps and enjoy the rest of your day, Aysha!
