I am a U.S Citizen but only in the US for 3 months a year (Brooklyn) I have a residence I live at each summer but not permanent NY residency. Can I open a checking account for my time in NYC each summer if I keep the minimum balance?- JD

Hi there Jeff,
Great to have you with us, thanks for your interest as we would love to welcome you to TD!
First, we're happy to say that you would be more than welcome to open an account with us. Since you mentioned that you don't live here for most of the year, our recommendation for you would be to visit us at any TD Bank Store to get the account started. When you are able to stop in, please bring a valid U.S. ID such as a Driver's license or Passport as well as your Social Security number. Feel free to check out all of our locations here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Depending on your unique situation, you might also be able to open an account with us online or via phone. If you prefer one of these options, in this case we recommend that you contact us directly at 888-751-9000 so we can better advise you when you provide us with a few more details. Our Specialists at that line are available for you 24/7. If you happen to be out of the country right now, you can also contact us from outside the United States via phone at 1-856-751-9000, or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518.
We hope this will help you get started with us, Jeff.
Thanks again for considering TD and we hope to chat with you about this soon!
