Thanks for dropping by TD Helps, Nora! We'll be sure to provide some useful information to you.
We'd like to start by stating that you'll be able to still bank with us even though a TD Bank may not be near you. Take a look below at some ways that you can bank with us.
If you're enrolled in online banking and have been with us for more than 90 days, you can take advantage of our mobile banking and deposit options. If you're not currently enrolled for online banking, you may do so by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY . Please have your account number, debit card number and Social Security number available. If you have any trouble signing up, please contact our Banking Specialists, 24/7 at 888-751-9000. Once you're enrolled, you can download our mobile app to your smartphone to take advantage of our mobile deposit feature. Click here: http://bit.ly/1vQMhtR to download the link and click here: http://bit.ly/1t2rx4L to review some of FAQs. With mobile and online banking, you'll have 24/7 access to your accounts and you'll be able to view your balance, make transfers and so much more.
You also have the option of mailing your deposits if you prefer. Feel free to do so by using the following mailing address:
TD Bank, N.A. ME2-001-033 P.O. Box Number 1190 Lewiston, ME 04243
We'd also like to share a few tips with you that could help before mailing your deposit.
- Cash should not be sent through the mail
- Payee of the check and name on deposit ticket should be the same
- Checks should be endorsed (and restricted for deposit only)
- Multiple checks should be listed and a total of the deposit listed
- Enclose the deposit ticket, not the carbon copy
- If using a blank deposit ticket, please write account number clearly
- Do not staple transactions
You could also utilize cash back options via POS at many pharmacies and grocery stores to avoid any potential fees from using a Non-TD Bank ATM. Check out: http://bit.ly/1xwvko5 for ways to avoid fees.
If you still would like to close your accounts, feel free to review the information below.
In order for your accounts to be closed, they both must have zero balances. There are a few ways that you can zero out your balances if funds still remain. You can transfer the funds from your savings account to your checking account and you can write a personal check for the balance in your account or make a debit card purchase for the remaining amount in your checking account. If you don't have access to a personal check or have a debit card, you can also mail in your request to close your accounts.
Please mail your written, signed, and notarized request to:
TD Bank, N.A.
(Home Store Address)
(Home Branch Telephone Number)
Please be sure to provide your account number so we may issue you a check for the remaining funds in your account as well as your final statement. If you are unsure of which Store is your Home Store, take a look at http://bit.ly/TDStores for hours and locations or please contact our Customer Service line at the telephone number listed above.
Once both balances are at zero, please give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or send us a secured message through online banking requesting the closure of your accounts. To send a secured message, please sign into your account and select "Send a message"; which is located underneath the Message Center on the left hand side of the page. If you choose to send us a secured message, please include both account numbers in your message. Please note that it can take up to 72 hours for the closure of your accounts.
We hope this information is useful to you and let us know if you have any additional questions, Nora. Take care and have a great night!
