Thanks for writing into TD Helps today, Dawn.
Usually, Landlord/Tennant accounts must be closed at a TD Bank location. Please be advised that only landlords can close a Landlord/Tennant account. Once the account is closed, an official check would be issued, payable to the landlord. It is the responsibility of the landlord to issue payment for the security deposit in accordance with the lease agreement. As you've stated that you're not near a TD Bank. We recommend for you to give the TD Bank Store in which the account was opened a call. Check out http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a TD Bank location near you.
Hope this helps and have a nice day.
