Good morning Joel! Great question.
While we don’t require you to have a chipped debit card, we certainly recommend it. Chipped debit cards are harder to duplicate and offer greater security measures than traditional debit cards. We're working toward all of our Customers having this type of debit card in their wallets.
We'd be happy to have a new chipped TD Bank Visa Debit Card mailed to you, right away! You can even get it with the same number so that you can continue to use the one you have until the new one arrives.
To request a new chipped debit card, give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or stop in to see us at any of our Stores. To find one near you, please click here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc. You can also send us a request by secure message through your online or mobile banking. To send a secure message, log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, look for the 'Message Center' on the left hand side and select 'Send a secure message'. From your Mobile Banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. Be sure to include your current mailing address in your message for verification. We can generally respond within 24 hours or less.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, Joel! Have a great day.
