Welcome to TD Helps Chike!
We appreciate your visit, and are glad to provide some information today.
It sounds like you are inquiring about closing your account with TD Bank. To close your account, you have the option of sending a secure message as long as the account balance is zero. If the account balance is not zero, we recommend removing the balance prior to sending your request through online or mobile banking.
To send a secure message, you may log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, look for the 'Message Center' on the left hand side and select 'Send a secure message'. From your Mobile Banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. Be sure to write a detailed message including the account number you'd like to close. We can generally respond within 24 hours or less.
You also have the option of visiting your local TD Bank Store to remove any remaining funds, to have the account closed. To view TD locations and lobby hours, please check out: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
If you are unable to close your account in person, please mail your written, signed, and notarized request to:
TD Bank, N.A.
P.O. Box 1377
Please be sure to provide all account numbers so we may issue you a check for the remaining funds in your account(s) as well as your final statement.
It will be necessary to make a specific request to close the account once the balance is zero; please note, the account will not close automatically.
Have a great day, Chike.
