Thank you for reaching us on TD Helps, Leanne. We're sorry to hear that you would like to close your account. We understand that banking needs change and we'd be glad to help you with the process.
First, we'd like to let you know that we are committed to your satisfaction as a Customer. If you have any questions or concerns about your banking experiences, we invite you to discuss them with us at a TD Store. Please find your closest Store and lobby hours here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
As you've mentioned that you have a remaining balance in your account, we'd recommend visiting any TD Bank Store near you to withdraw the funds and request that the account be closed. Please visit the above link to find a convenient location for you.
Please know that if you would like to transfer the funds to another account you have with us, you are able to contact us once the account balance is $0.00. You are able to call us 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000. After account verification, our Representatives will be glad to help you finalize the account with a zero balance.
Similarly, you are able to send us a secure message via Online Banking to close an account with a zero balance. To send a secure message please log in here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. On the left hand side, you should see an option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center."
Please note that if you'd like to close a Business account, this must be completed at any TD Bank Store.
We hope this helps, Leanne and have a good day.
